A 19 year old student at a Blount County adult education learning center was arrested for possessing a machete in his backpack at school, the principal alerted the authorities once the weapon was found. The culprit told officers that he forgot that his machete was in his back pack, but student's said that Wright (the culprit) was showing the weapon to many students.
I thought that this story was interesting because the culprit had a machete at school, and lied to authorities, after showing some students.
Hey, that happened here this year- a kid with a knife. I dunno... Seems like if you're showing it to your friends you're not planning to use it. Yeah, it's wrong and unsafe to have weapons, but there are so many weapons shown on TV and in everyday settings, some people don't see them as out of place. A sign of our violent culture I guess.
