Man Threw Baby

A 26 year old named Dario, in Salem Massachusetts, was angry at his 7-week-old son because he wouldn't stop crying. He drives kids back and fourth to a day care, police were told that he shoved a baby wipe down his infant son's throat to stop the crying, dropped him 3 feet from the floor then threw him at the child's mother at about 4 feet. His son was taken to the hospital for treatment of facial injuries and bruising, but is expected to make a full recovery.

He pleaded not guilty and is not in jail with no bail. Police said that there was nothing on his background to indicate that he would be involved in a child abuse case. A few days later a prosecutor told a judge that Dario repeatedly abused his 52-day-old out of anger because the baby wouldn't stop crying and wouldn't obey his commands to "shut up."

They were together for 4 years, and married for one. He hit and abused her and there son, and she left him, and called the police. He was soon woken up and arrested. She was granted a one-year restraining order, to keep him from her or his son.

I think this story was interesting because he didn't just hit his wife/spouse, but he hit and harmed there 7-week-old son as well, and I think it's just messed up.

Adult education student: machete in backpack

A 19 year old student at a Blount County adult education learning center was arrested for possessing a machete in his backpack at school, the principal alerted the authorities once the weapon was found. The culprit told officers that he forgot that his machete was in his back pack, but student's said that Wright (the culprit) was showing the weapon to many students.

I thought that this story was interesting because the culprit had a machete at school, and lied to authorities, after showing some students.

Spanking in NM schools?

It is still LEGAL to spank kids in 36 school's accross New Mexico. The parent of some kids are complaining about how the teachers are leaving marks, also that if they themself's left marks on there kids they would get sent to jail. The parents also don't want there right's as parents to get taken away, so they can still punish there own children. No one was charged because before they let there kids into there school's, they signed a consent form allowing the punishment. It is now up to Martinez to decide on the bill, and the decision has to be done by friday April 8th, 2011.

I think this story is interesting because I didn't even know that it was still happening in school system's around the US.

Burglary Suspect Hiding In Dryer

In Albuquerque New Mexico, a man was found and arrested. He was burglarizing a woman's home and took many items, trashed her house and even broke in the whole back door. Investigators linked him to many other home invasions near the most recent burglary. When the woman came home, she instantly knew something was wrong, and called the authorities. After searching for the suspect for awhile, they found him in a local house, with many other belongings from at least 5 other homes. The weirdest part of the article I thought was where they found him hiding, they ended up finding him in a dryer. Not only that, but with a glass door, so they could easily see him.

I thought this story was interesting because I believe it is truly a weird place to hide from the police in a dryer.

Handicap..

In Albuquerque New Mexico, a disabled new Mexican woman couldn't get a handicap sticker even thought she is handicaped. Sandra Sanchez said that she shattered her elbow in an accident, also that she has no feelings in her fingers other then some tingling.

The reason she can't get the handicap sticker is because the Motor Vehicles Department only gives them out for disabilities related to only walking. Sandra thinks they should update the list for getting your handicap sticker. A spokesperson for the MVD said if your not qualified on the handicap applaction then you should get your doctor to write the MVD.

I am intrested in this story because I don't think you need to just have a "walking problem" to get the handicap sticker, because there are alot of diffrent way's to be handicap.
